Community support around the world – Electrolux helps local causes during holiday season

During the holiday season, many Electrolux offices around the world are joining forces with charities to support local communities. The actions address various causes, from helping families in need with packing food bundles, to auctioning products for charity and supporting charities with donations. With some examples from around the world, Electrolux wishes a warm holiday season for all.

Electrolux and partners inaugurate unique Swedish energy research program

Electrolux is proud to participate in “Smart Energy City”, a unique research program where 150 families are moving into smart apartments in Stockholm’s new urban development area Royal Seaport. Inhabitants will be able to see and manage their energy usage in real time, creating information to be used for research by the KTH Royal Institute of Technology.

Electrolux highlights ugly food with food waste awareness campaign in Asia

Electrolux is taking its Singaporean community initiative #happyplateSG into its second year with #UglyIsTheNewGood – a campaign seeking to highlight that food doesn’t need to look pretty to be nutritious and delicious. The campaign encourages Singaporeans to embrace ugly food, in order to reduce food waste from the beginning of the food chain.

Electrolux helps train guerilla soldiers as service technicians in Colombia

Through a training program run by Electrolux, former guerilla soldiers from Monteria, northwest Colombia, have acquired the skills to work as appliance service technicians, allowing them to reintegrate into society and support their families. It’s a powerful example of the Group’s social responsibility agenda that truly contributes to transforming lives for the better.

Improved vacuum cleaner efficiency cuts CO2 emissions, boosts performance

Electrolux vacuum cleaners sold in Europe this year will be 40% more energy efficient and save 730 gigawatt hours in electricity consumption compared to the product lineup from 2005. This is equal to the yearly energy consumption of 200,000 households and emissions of 290,000 tons of CO2. The overall outlook is that Electrolux vacuum cleaners will use 58% less energy by 2018 while the performance only gets better.
