Going green with our vacuum cleaner range

Electrolux launches a range of five green vacuum cleaners made from 55-70% recycled plastics. In use, they save up to 50% energy compared to an average cleaner. The launch is supported by the campaign ‘Vac from the Sea’ which draws attention to the growing amount of plastic waste in the oceans.

New innovations in Brazil

Electrolux launches the Ultra Clean Washer, the first washing machine with an ultrasonic stain remover accessory. The Electrolux Infinity I-Kitchen refrigerator, which is launched in Brazil, has a touch screen on the top door.

Delicious meals in just one touch

The  Air-o-Steam Touchline professional oven is launched. With it, a single touch is all that’s required to prepare delicious meals thanks to the user-friendly high definition touch screen featuring 262,000 colors, 30 languages, and internationally-recognized icons and food images.

Keith McLoughlin is appointed CEO, acquistions in Egypt and Chile

American Keith McLoughlin succeeds Hans Stråberg as President and CEO. Through the acquisitions of the appliances companies Olympic Group in Egypt and CTI in Chile, Electrolux increases its exposure in the Middle East and South America- two important growth markets.

Professional quality cooking products for luxury homes

Electrolux launches Grand Cuisine – professional cooking products designed for the world’s most exclusive homes. The ultra-luxury cooking system includes cooking products such as a combination oven, blast chiller, gas, sear and induction hobs, customized ventilation and a stand mixer.

An inspiring launch in Europe

The Inspiration Range encompassing new, innovative kitchen appliances and laundry products is launched under the Electrolux brand in the premium segment in Europe.

Deal with DIY chain Home Depot and moving into a new product category

Electrolux enters an agreement with the world’s largest do-it-yourself chain Home Depot to sell appliances under the Electrolux and Frigidaire brands in the chain’s stores in North America. The Group also ventures into an entirely new product category with major growth potential – water heaters.

Going gourmet with Poggenpohl

The Gourmet Range, an exclusive collection of built-in appliances, is launched together with kitchens from Poggenpohl. The CombiSteam Sous-vide oven and vacuum sealer is launched in Europe under Electrolux and AEG brands. Sous-vide is an example of professional technology in a premium domestic product.

Electrolux in Brazil launches the Mini Silent washing machine, an innovative, wall-mounted washing machine and a new option for urban consumers with a lack of space.

Launch of the UltraCollection vacuum cleaners

Electrolux launches the UltraCollection of five vacuum cleaners with a cohesive design style. A third generation of Ergorapido was launched in Japan, the largest market for the product.

The AEG Ökokombi is launched, the world’s first washer-dryer with heat pump technology.

2014

Attempting to acquire GE Appliances

In September 2014, Electrolux reaches an agreement to acquire US-based GE Appliances for a total price of 3.3 billion US dollars. It would have been Electrolux largest acquisition ever, but in 2015, GE terminates the agreement following a prolonged court proceeding.

Remote- control temperature

A new app is presented, the AEG Let’s Taste app, that allows consumers to remotely control the temperature, time and other functions of their ovens. A prototype of a camera inside the oven, which sends images of the dish being prepared to a smartphone or tablet device, is presented.

Electrolux takes an important step in the area of connected products, joining the AllSeen Alliance as a premier member. Electrolux is investing in this technology, which involves appliances communicating with each other, consumers and other devices.

BeefEater Barbecues is acquired in Australia, increasing the Group’s barbecue offering, a key segment in kitchen products in Australia.

Electrolux joins Google program and connected air conditioner launched

Electrolux joins Google’s Early Access Program for its Brillo operating system and Weave communications protocol, which aims to develop connected appliances for smart homes. Electrolux launches Frigidaire Cool Connect, the Group’s first connected air conditioner, which can be programmed by an app.

Launching our first oven with a built-in camera

Electrolux presents the AEG ProCombi Plus, the market’s first steam oven with a built-in camera. This combines two strong consumer trends: preparing delicious, healthy food and being able to control preparation remotely.

The washing machine for small companies

Electrolux myPRO washing machines and tumble dryers, specially adapted for small companies, are launched in Europe. This is a new segment in the market for Electrolux.

Electrolux announces acquisitions of Kwikot, a leading water-heater company in South Africa, and Australia/Singapore-based company Vintec which supplies a wide range of climate-controlled wine cabinets throughout the Asia Pacific region.

The Electrolux SpeeDelight is introduced. It is a flexible high-speed grill for cafes and fast food restaurants to serve panini, pizza, hamburgers, croissants, pie or other snacks three times faster than with a conventional oven.

New innovative robotic vacuum cleaner is launched

The Pure i9 robotic vacuum cleaner is launched. It has a triangular shape and among other technical features, a 3D vision system and the ability to climb over tresholds. With the Pure i9 app the user can even control the vacuum cleaner when away from home.

Acquiring smart-kitchen appliance company Anova

Electrolux acquires US- based smart kitchen appliance company Anova, provider of the Anova Precision Cooker, an innovative connected device for sous vide cooking.

Acquiring Best, a European kitchen hood company

Electrolux acquires kitchen hoods company Best, a European manufacturer of innovative and well-designed kitchen hoods.  The Group also acquires the Continental brand in Latin America.

Opening of Taste Center in Asia

Electrolux opens its first Taste Center in Asia. A whole new Digital Experience Team is set up.
