Electrolux held its first ever Supplier Awards event on November 20, 2013, celebrating its top direct material suppliers from around the world and selecting twelve winners out of 3,000 potential candidates.
What does the future of the home hold? Flying mini-robot cleaners, expanding walls that filter the air and 3D food printers are just some of the visions in the Electrolux Design Lab competition, arranged now for the 11th consecutive year. The flying robot concept “Mab” was awarded first prize in competition finals at the Fotografiska Museum in Stockholm, Sweden.
A breathing wall that cleans the air, a hologram cooking appliance to prevent loneliness and a robotic cleaning appliance running on kinetic energy. These are some of the innovative concepts chosen as the top 20 semifinalists of the Electrolux Design Lab 2013 competition.
Electrolux achieved an outstanding result in this year’s red dot design awards, securing a total 22 awards for high quality design under all three of the Group’s European brands: Electrolux, AEG and Zanussi. Appliances including ovens, hoods, hobs, dishwashers, washing machines and vacuum cleaners were all recognized by the international jury.
Electrolux has this year been included in the Global 100 ranking of the world’s most sustainable companies, returning to the list for the first time since 2005. The company was also for the second year running named Sector Leader in the RobecoSAM 2013 global sustainability rating, and ranked as one of the world’s leading consumer goods companies in terms of addressing climate change.
