Electrolux Group Donates Room Air Conditioners to Help Springfield Community Fight Summer Heat

Charlotte, NC, August 29, 2023 – Electrolux Group today donated more than $141,000 worth of room air conditioners to the United Way of Greater Nashville, which will distribute the appliances to the most vulnerable populations located both in the local community and surrounding areas. The organization is leveraging several local nonprofits to support the distribution of the appliances, including C.O.P.E., Stokes Brown Public Library, Robertson County YMCA, United Ministries Food Bank and Mid-Cumberland Community Action Agency.

The 500 room air conditioners are Energy STAR certified and will help local community members beat the heat this summer, while reducing energy and costs.

“We understand how critical air conditioning is for the overall health and wellbeing of our community members,” said Tony Fraley, plant manager of the Electrolux Group Springfield factory. “We are proud to help meet this critical need and thank our strong community partners for helping us spread this donation far and wide to serve our community members who need the support most.”

Team members from the Electrolux Group Springfield manufacturing factory added “sweat equity” to the donation by volunteering to unload the 18-wheeler truck at TNKids Nutrition, Inc., putting the company’s purpose of shaping living for the better into action.

“All it takes for a family to get derailed financially could be having their air conditioner go out, a flat tire or an unexpected bill. We have many families that struggle to overcome such unexpected costs. We are so grateful for the generosity of Electrolux Group in donating these units to our community. If you have endured the heat this summer, you know what a difference A/C makes. I am so excited for all our friends who get to go home and plug these units in and feel the relief Electrolux Group has provided,” said Tiffany Thomson, community impact manager for United Way of Greater Nashville.

Electrolux Group has been a proud member of the Robertson community for 49 years, manufacturing high quality cooktops and ranges under the company’s Electrolux and Frigidaire brands.
