5 ways we are contributing to climate action

At Electrolux Group, our purpose is to shape living for the better.  Here are five ways the Group is contributing to global efforts for climate action.

1. More energy and water-efficient products

Electrolux Group has reduced emissions in products (Scope 3) by 33% compared to its 2021 baseline. In 2025, the Group’s most energy- and water-efficient products represented 26% of total units sold and 36% of its gross profit.

The Group also actively guides consumers toward more sustainable behaviors. For example, by encouraging them to wash their clothes at lower temperature, for instance in our 50L Home pilot in Los Angeles, demonstrating water and energy savings.

2. Reducing CO2 emissions in the Group’s operations

Electrolux Group’s goal is to reduce carbon emissions in its own operations (Scope 1 and 2) by 85% by 2030.

2025 was a breakthrough year on the Group’s climate journey as it cut carbon emissions in operations by 45% compared to 2021 (and by 85% compared to 2015). This was achieved by continuously improving energy efficiency in operations, maintaining ISO 50001 energy management standards, switching to renewable energy (97% of its electricity and 67% of its total energy consumption came from renewables in 2025) and phasing out the use of high global-warming-potential refrigerants.

3. Less water consumption in manufacturing

As water shortages and floods become increasingly common, and water quality and ecosystems are degrading, Electrolux Group’s efforts to improve manufacturing water efficiency have been recognized through the achievement of CDP Water Security Leadership level (A-).

While the Group’s operations are not water-intensive, it aims to improve water efficiency by 33% (compared to 2021) at its manufacturing sites in potential water-risk areas and by 13% elsewhere by 2030. This will be achieved through continuous water efficiency improvements and adopting water recycling and reclamation systems.

4. Increasing the use of recycled materials in Electrolux Group’s products

After product use, materials are the Group’s second largest source of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Recycled steel and plastic currently account for 23% of the materials used in its manufactured products.

To enable more circular design by increasing the use of recycled and recyclable materials, the Group is striving to achieve 35% recycled content in steel and plastics used in its own manufacturing operations by 2030.

5. Reducing waste disposal at the Group’s sites

Reducing landfill waste is critical due to its long-term environmental impact. Through the Electrolux Group’s Zero Waste to Landfill program, the company recycles or recovers over 99% of its manufacturing waste, ensuring it is diverted from landfill.
More than 90% of the Group’s finished goods manufacturing sites are certified by a third party, under this program.

Putting words into action and results

In 2025, in recognition of Electrolux Group’s continued progress toward its climate targets, it was once again awarded an A score in CDP’s Climate Leadership rating, placing the Group among the top four percent of companies globally for climate transparency and action.

Electrolux Group also achieved the Science Based Target initiative’s (SBTi’s) 10-year target criteria to reduce carbon emissions and stay in line with the Paris Agreement to limit global warming, in just four years.

“Across the world, we strive to scale more energy- and water-efficient products, switch to renewable energy, reduce our waste, increase the use of recycled materials and cut CO₂ emissions in our operations*. We help accelerate climate action while demonstrating that more sustainable products also drive higher profitability and a more circular business,” says Elena Breda, SVP Product Strategy, Innovation & Sustainability.
