Charlotte, NC, August 27, 2024 – Electrolux Group today donated more than $155,000 worth of room air conditioners to the United Way of Greater Nashville, which will distribute the appliances to the most vulnerable populations located both in the Clarksville-Montgomery County area and surrounding communities. The organization is leveraging several local nonprofits to support the distribution of the air conditioners, including the Clarksville Montgomery County Public Library, Operation Stand Down, Urban Ministries, Manna Café, JD Lewis, and Bethesda.
The 600 room air conditioners are Energy STAR certified and will help local community members stay cool, while reducing energy and costs.
“Air conditioning isn’t a luxury, it’s a basic necessity that many in our communities make do without,” said Bill Luke, plant manager of the Electrolux Group Springfield factory. “It’s important to our business that we, through our giving efforts, support the organizations and initiatives that have a real impact on improving the quality of life and safety of our communities.”
Volunteers from the Electrolux Group’s Springfield manufacturing factory took action to embody the company’s mission of shaping living for the better by loading air conditioning units into patron’s vehicles at the Montgomery County Public Library.
“In today’s economy, one unexpected expense can easily overwhelm a family. An unfortunate many have had to make the difficult sacrifice to forego air conditioning in their homes to address other expenses or avoid a replacement cost. We are so grateful for the generosity of Electrolux Group in donating these units, so our community no longer has to endure the uncomfortable and potentially unsafe summer heat,” said Valerie Guzman, Executive Director of the United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region.
Electrolux Group has been a proud member of the Robertson community for 49 years, manufacturing high quality cooktops and ranges under the company’s Electrolux and Frigidaire brands.
