Consumers eligible for either an appliance repair or depreciated refund.
Charlotte, NC, May 16, 2024 – In a reannouncement of a previous recall from 2009, Electrolux Group today requested that owners of certain Frigidaire and Kenmore smooth-top electric freestanding ranges contact the company to understand if their range is eligible for repair or a depreciated refund. The ranges were produced from 2001 to 2009.
Depending on the model, the surface heating elements can either turn on spontaneously without being switched on; fail to turn off after being switched off; or heat to different temperatures than selected. This poses fire and burn injury hazards to consumers.
“Consumer safety is always our top priority,” said Electrolux Group North America Product Safety Director Chad Strickland. “That’s why we have decided to reannounce this recall in partnership with the CPSC and Health Canada to ensure all consumers are aware, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.”
