Expansion adds jobs, builds on 36-year community legacy
CHARLOTTE, October 16, 2025 – Electrolux Group today announced a more than $23 million investment to expand its Kinston, North Carolina dishwasher factory, reinforcing its position as the North America Center of Excellence for dish production. The expansion will introduce stainless steel tub production to complement the facility’s existing plastic tub and upcoming hybrid tub operations, further strengthening its U.S. manufacturing footprint.
The investment is supported by partnerships with North Carolina Governor Stein, North Carolina General Assembly, North Carolina Department of Commerce, Lenoir County Development Alliance, North Carolina Global TransPark Economic Development Region and other key economic development organizations.
“This expansion is a testament to our commitment to U.S. manufacturing and our belief in the strength of the Kinston workforce,” said Ricardo Cons, president and CEO of Business Area North America for Electrolux Group. “We’re proud to continue investing in a community that has supported us for more than three decades, and to do so in North Carolina – a state with a pro-business climate that prioritizes and champions manufacturing.”
The Kinston factory, which opened in 1989, celebrates its 36th anniversary this month. Over the years, it has become a cornerstone of Electrolux Group’s North American operations – recognized for its market-leading quality, cost efficiency and deeply committed workforce. More than 60% of employees have more than 20 years of service, with several marking 35 years of dedication.
The expansion is expected to create 74 new jobs over two years, with the opportunity for continued job growth. Production of stainless-steel tub dishwashers is slated to begin in 2027.
