Residenz Phoenixsee: Redefining Senior Living by the Lake
At the heart of Dortmund’s transformed Phoenixsee district lies a unique residential concept: the Residenz Phoenixsee. Where steel was once produced, a vibrant urban oasis has emerged – blending lakeside living with gastronomy, culture, and community. Within this premium location, a new benchmark for senior living was set.
Developed as a luxury, barrier-free senior residence, the Residenz offers 99 serviced apartments with lake views and balconies, alongside 80 fully equipped care rooms. Lifestyle and care are seamlessly integrated with exclusive amenities such as a gourmet restaurant, Sky Bar, concert hall, fitness facilities, and a fireside lounge.
CARELINE was proud to co-create this exceptional project – from concept development to complete interior fit-out. In partnership with Electrolux, the apartments were equipped with high-quality AEG kitchen appliances, combining functionality, reliability, and modern design. Inspired by nature and local heritage, our designers crafted a cohesive design language featuring natural tones, premium materials, and a unique sensory experience through bespoke scents.

Phoenixsee was one of CARELINE’s first major joint project with Electrolux, under the AEG brand in Germany. As experienced kitchen planners with several decades of combined expertise, CARELINE were looking for a new, reliable, and high-quality partner. As one of the leading outfitting companies for residential and commercial projects, CARELINE’s goal was to further strengthen their market position toward market leadership.

When designing a safe and supportive environment for residents, thoughtful and user-friendly appliances are key. A carefully selected range of AEG appliances proved to be the perfect fit for the Residenz Phoenixsee project.

In the kitchen, the AEG 3000 Series Telescopic LEDlights hood provides expert illumination for greater detail while cooking. Its reliable motor helps to efficiently reduce and remove any odours resulting from cooking.
The AEG 3000 Series Domino Induction Hob provides you with maximum flexibility when designing your kitchen. Simply decide exactly which types of heat sources you need to meet your individual requirements – whether it’s a purpose-designed wok module or extra-large hob modules – and create your perfect kitchen.
In the Residenz Phoenixsee there obviously is no place for soggy leftovers or unevenly heated ovens. The AEG 8000 Series Compact CombiQuick Oven with integrated Microwave merges the rapid convenience of microwave cooking with the crisping power of a grill—perfect for melting cheesy toasties or caramelizing a crème brûlée topping without switching appliances. Engineered for efficiency, this appliance heats up quickly so you can get cooking—and eating—faster. Its convection-based HotAir system circulates heat evenly throughout the oven, cutting cooking time by up to 20%.
When it is time for washing up, the AEG 6000 Series SatelliteClean® Dishwasher, even tightly packed dishes come out spotless. The clear beam-on-floor indicator shows when a cycle is in progress or complete, while the AirDry system gently finishes the job—reducing the need for manual drying.
To support sustainable practices, the QuickSelect interface offers an intuitive solution. Users can easily set the desired wash cycle duration using the touchscreen slider, while the Ecometer provides visual guidance—using green bars—to highlight the most energy- and water-efficient programs. This empowers users to make eco-conscious choices quickly and confidently, helping to reduce environmental impact without compromising on cleanliness.
