Electrolux Group continuously works to be a Better Company by driving more resource-efficient operations.

Drive more resource-efficient operations
Electrolux Group aims to run more resource-efficient operations and phase out fossil fuels as an integral part of its work by applying industry-leading practices. This reflects the Group’s values and what it stands for as a company — contributing to the solution is important for both employees and consumers.
Focus Areas
Climate Action: Reduce the Group’s CO2 emissions
Addressing climate change by reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions is one of the most urgent challenges facing society. Electrolux Group strives to lead the global transition to a low carbon economy in the home appliance industry by reducing greenhouse gas emissions across its entire value chain.
The Group’s overarching science-based climate target is aligned with the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement, which aims to keep the global temperature rise in line with a 1.5°C trajectory. The target aims to reduce carbon emissions in the Group’s own operations (Scope 1 and 2) by 85% between 2021 and 2030.
This is achieved primarily by continuously improving energy efficiency in operations, maintaining ISO 50001 energy management system standards, switching to renewable energy from verified sources and phasing out the use of high global-warming-potential refrigerants.

Water Efficiency: Improve water efficiency across manufacturing sites
The Group recognizes the global water crisis, where water shortages and floods are increasingly common, and water quality and ecosystems are degrading.
While the Group’s operations are not water-intensive, it is committed to reducing the water footprint across its manufacturing operations. The Group aims to improve water efficiency at its own manufacturing sites by 33% in potential water-risk areas and by 13% in all other areas between 2021 and 2030. This is achieved by continuously improving water efficiency in its operations, including the adoption of water recycling/reclaiming systems at its manufacturing sites.

Waste Management: Zero Waste to Landfill approach
Reducing landfill waste is critical due to its long-term environmental impact. Most manufacturing waste — primarily metal, paper, and wood — can be recycled or recovered.
The Zero Waste to Landfill program is the Group’s main initiative to prevent and reduce disposal of waste generated from its finished goods manufacturing sites to landfill.
Developed by Electrolux Group, the program requires that over 99% of waste generated at each site is diverted from landfill and incineration without energy recovery, in favor of recycling and other recovery operations bringing waste to value. Sites achieving this level of performance, together with compliance with all other program requirements, are independently verified and certified by Intertek.
The Group aims to extend the Zero Waste to Landfill approach at all Electrolux Group’s finished goods manufacturing sites between 2021 and 2030. This is achieved by continuous optimization of waste management practices, collaboration with local suppliers and strict governance ensuring accurate and reliable waste data.

Biodiversity: Continuously assess the biodiversity and ecosystem significance of all sites
Biodiversity and ecosystem health — encompassing genetic diversity, species variety, and a range of habitats — are vital to both the natural world and human well-being. Electrolux Group recognizes the critical role biodiversity plays in driving sustainable progress and ensuring the long-term resilience of its business.
The Group is committed to proactively integrating biodiversity considerations into decision-making and operational practices across its manufacturing sites. This is achieved primarily by maintaining the ISO 14001 environmental management system standards, increasing the awareness of potential biodiversity loss and adopting mitigation actions across sites identified as having high biodiversity significance.

Health and Safety: Leadership in health and safety
Health and safety have long been top priorities of the Group and are a fundamental part of the sustainability agenda. The Group is committed to providing all employees, non-employees and contractors with a safe and healthy working environment and takes appropriate actions to prevent and manage potential workplace accidents and illnesses.
The Group aims to reduce the total case incident rate (TCIR), a key safety KPI — to 0.30 by 2030. This is achieved through the Group’s Safety Management System, which underpins continuous improvement by educating on risk awareness, promoting proactive hazard identification and reinforcing a culture of shared responsibility, while maintaining ISO 45001 health and safety management standards across all sites.

Drive a more sustainable supply chain
The domestic appliance industry is dependent on complex supply chains that can influence the Group’s overall sustainability impact. As a company with sustainability leadership aspirations, Electrolux Group sees its suppliers as an extension of its own operations.
Suppliers are expected to support the Group’s sustainability agenda by actively working to improve their own sustainability performance. This contributes to sustainability progress, not only in the Group’s supply chains, but also beyond.
Focus Areas
Responsible Sourcing: Advance responsible and more sustainable practices across the supply chain
Electrolux Group takes its industry sustainability leadership agenda into the supply chain, regardless of where suppliers are located, and supports them in their transition to more sustainable practices.
The Group applies a risk-based approach whereby alignment with Group expectations is included in supplier agreements, and engagement and follow-up focuses on strategic and high-risk suppliers. This includes raising awareness, risk screening, auditing, etc. The Group aims to ensure that 95% of strategic suppliers are graded “approved” or “accepted low risk” according to the Supplier Workplace evaluation.

Supplier Engagement: Drive environmental performance
Electrolux Group actively supports suppliers on climate-related initiatives. High-impact suppliers — defined as those with the greatest influence on the Group’s long-term environmental objectives, and representing over 85% of global procurement spend on direct materials and finished products — are engaged through the Group’s Supply Chain program.
The Group aims to maintain an annual response rate to CDP — an international non-profit organization specializing in environmental impact disclosure and ratings — of over 95% among high-impact suppliers. This is achieved by engaging suppliers on climate data reporting; continuously improving the quality of data shared; educating and training them on carbon emissions estimations and accounting; sharing best practices on reducing carbon footprints in operations; and building partnerships across topics to contribute toward the Group’s sustainability agenda.

Sustainable Logistics: Reduce CO2 emissions from upstream transport and distribution and business travel
The Group’s overarching science-based climate target is aligned with the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement that aims to keep the global temperature rise in line with a 1.5°C trajectory. While upstream transportation and distribution emissions, and business travel only accounts for ~1% of the Group’s total greenhouse gas (GHG) footprint, this still represents an opportunity to reduce Scope 3 emissions.
Overall, the Group’s science-based target aims to reduce Scope 3 emissions by 42% between 2021 and 2030. This is achieved primarily by increasing the proportion of intermodal transport and more efficient transport solutions, using more sustainable fuels, electrification and adopting low-emission technologies
