Electrolux Group voluntarily recalls certain gas cooktops due to safety issue

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – August 31, 2023 Electrolux Group today requested that owners of certain Frigidaire gas cooktops contact the company to receive a set of free replacement knobs to remedy the issue addressed in the recall. Consumers can verify if their cooktop is affected by checking www.cooktopknobrecall.com. Only two stainless steel gas cooktop models are affected (FFGC3026SS and FFGC3626SS).

The reason for the recall is an issue with the cooktop’s plastic control knobs, which can crack or break during use, posing a risk of gas leak or fire hazard. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled cooktops, check for plastic control knobs with a black shaft and contact Electrolux Group for a free set of replacement knobs. Consumers can continue to use knobs with a chrome-colored shaft.

“As always, the safety of our consumers is our top priority, and we take this matter very seriously,” said Electrolux Group North America Product Safety Director Chad Strickland. “We have decided to voluntarily recall these affected cooktops in close partnership with the CPSC and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.”

Consumer Actions

  1. Check www.cooktopknobrecall.com to see if both your model and serial number are on the affected cooktop list. Both numbers can be found on a label on the underside of the cooktop.
  2. If your cooktop is on the affected list, consumers can order a set of free replacement knobs to address the recall at www.cooktopknobrecall.com.

Please note: Products with other serial numbers within the Frigidaire, Frigidaire Professional and Electrolux lines are not affected.
