Electrolux Group voluntarily recalls certain Frigidaire rear control ranges due to possible safety issue

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – February 15, 2024 – Electrolux Group today requested that owners of certain Frigidaire ranges contact the company to schedule a service call to remedy the issue addressed in the recall. Consumers can verify if their Frigidaire rear control range is affected by checking www.RangeUIRecall.com. The impacted models and serial numbers are not available for sale at retail.

The reason for the recall is an issue with a limited number of Frigidaire rear control ranges in which the control panel (user interface) on the ranges can detach from the unit, posing electrical shock and electrocution hazards.

“Consumer safety is our top priority, and we take this matter very seriously,” said Electrolux Group North America Product Safety Director Chad Strickland. “We have decided to voluntarily recall these affected ranges in partnership with the CPSC and Health Canada, and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.”

Consumer Actions

  1. Check www.RangeUIRecall.com to see if both your model and serial number are on the affected range list. Both numbers can be found in the drawer beneath the oven.

  1. If it is on the affected list, consumers should stop using the range until service has been performed and the remedy addressing the recall is completed.

  1. If it is on the affected list, consumers can schedule service to receive professional installation of a new control panel, free of charge, at www.RangeUIRecall.com.

Electrolux Group conducted this recall voluntarily under CPSC’s Fast Track Recall process. Fast Track recalls are initiated by firms who commit to work with CPSC to quickly announce the remedy to protect consumers.

Please note: Products with other serial numbers within the Frigidaire, Frigidaire Professional and Electrolux lines are not affected.
