Appliances to help residents in need located in Lenoir and Green counties
Today, 194 Frigidaire room air conditioners, valued at close to $50,000, reached eastern North Carolina's most heat-vulnerable residents. They were delivered by Electrolux Group's Kinston employees in partnership with Lenoir/Greene United Way and several community partner agencies.
Now in its second year, the effort prioritized elderly individuals living alone, families with young children, and residents with heat-sensitive medical conditions.
“Many of our employees live in this area. When they were distributing these units, they weren’t helping strangers. They were helping neighbors. Being able to hand someone something that makes their home safer is not something we take lightly," said Jeff Britt, plant manager at Electrolux Group's Kinston facility.
“When it is so hot and humid, having air conditioning makes a huge difference,” said Dianne Andrews, Executive Director of Greene County Interfaith. “In the past, I have cried when we’ve delivered a unit to a home where I could barely breathe. We extend our thanks to Electrolux Group for this meaningful donation that will touch the lives of so many families in our community.”

Electrolux Group has operated in Kinston for more than 35 years and manufactures dishwashers sold under the Electrolux and Frigidaire brands across North America.
