In honor of World Food Day, the nonprofit Electrolux Food Foundation today announces it has reached its 2030 goal five years early — 300,000 children have now been educated on sustainable eating — with a new goal set to reach one million children by 2030.
The goal was made possible thanks to thousands of Food Heroes workshops about sustainable eating taking place across our offices, factories and external venues such as schools and nongovernmental organizations, with the help of partners Worldchefs, AIESEC and Cook School since 2018.
“All of us at the Foundation are so proud of this united and impressive effort. I want to extend my thanks to the many passionate and dedicated people who committed to the cause of a more sustainable and secure future for our food and our planet. We now have huge momentum to aim even higher, with a bold new goal for 2030 to educate one million people,” says Cosimo Scarano, Head of the Electrolux Food Foundation.
The Foundation will also continue to encourage engagement with Electrolux Group employees and its partners, fostering a united effort.
To celebrate, Scarano lets the children educate him this time — about their visionary ideas for food. Watch the video to get inspired.
