Electrolux has been awarded a combined total of twelve International Design Awards in the “Household/Living” appliance category for the 2008 edition of the iF Design Awards. This year 2771 entries from 35 countries competed for the international iF Design Award 2008, organized by International Forum Design in Hannover, Germany.
Winning appliances from the Electrolux Group include the Electrolux Gusto range cooker, a 100cm wide stainless steel cooker with a contemporary and ergonomic design. Further the built-in cooker/oven range, the built-in dishwasher range, as well as the Backstein cooker hood range were awarded.
Other winning products include the Electrolux Compact built-in product range, the Electrolux Insight toploader product range, the Electrolux Infinite hob, the AEG-Electrolux Direct Control hob product range and the AEG-Electrolux CuliSense built-in oven. Vacuum cleaners Energica and the second generation Ergorapido 2in1 were also awarded the iF Design Award 2008.
Electrolux appliances were recognized for their leading quality, functionality, design, ease of use, environmental friendliness and innovative technological solutions, among other factors.
The Award, given at what is regarded as a key international design competition, is judged by top international designers from various disciplines. The award statues, dubbed “Design Oscars”, were especially created for the iF Awards by leading designer Herbert Schultes in 1996.

All the awarded products will be showcased during the International Hannover Fairs 2008 (March 4 – end of August 2008) and published in the iF design award yearbook which will be released also on March 4, 2008.
