The King and Queen of Spain inaugurate new production line for Electrolux Eurocombi refrigerators

Today, H.H. M.M. King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofia of Spain inaugurated a new production line of Electrolux refrigerators in Fuenmayor, Spain. The inauguration of the pan-European Eurocombi line reflects an investment of EUR 24 million, of which EUR 9 million is dedicated to research and development. The investment will create many job opportunities in the Spanish region of Rioja.

The production line will increase the Fuenmayor factory’s production capacity by 120,000 units per year. Fuenmayor is the first European plant to manufacture the Eurocombi line (frost-free refrigerators) for all of Europe. 80% of the goods produced will be exported to other European countries.

The Eurocombi, marketed under the Electrolux and Zanussi brands, incorporates the latest frost-free technology, such as automatic defrosting and uniform cooling systems, and is manufactured with completely recyclable materials.

In Spain, Electrolux products are marketed through the following brands: Electrolux, AEG, Zanussi, Corberó, Kelvinator and Tornado. The Electrolux Group has two Spanish factories, Alcalá de Henares, Madrid (washers) and Fuenmayor, Rioja (refrigerators).
