Strong interest in new Electrolux Innovation Factory

Following on from a public call for applications, Electrolux has received over 100 applications for the new Innovation Factory, which opens September 11 in Porcia, Italy. This new hub is designed to harness the creative energy of Open Innovation.

In May, Electrolux announced a public call for ideas based on the theme ‘Smarter Appliances, Easier Operations’ to find cutting-edge solutions (related to wearable technologies and quality control in industrial activities, advanced technologies, connectivity, robotics and artificial intelligence) from external players such as start-ups, SMEs and university spin-offs.

This first-ever ‘Call4Innovation’ attracted 100 interested partners from around the world.

“The Innovation Factory will help drive Open Innovation and generate a multitude of great ideas that will lead to new value for our consumers,” says Jan Brockmann, Electrolux Chief Operations Officer.

“We’re truly excited about the level of interest that this public call has generated, with submissions coming from around the world.”
