Jonas Samuelson named CFO of the Year 2010 in Sweden

Jonas Samuelson, Chief Financial Officer of Electrolux, has been named CFO of the Year 2010 by Affärsvärlden, one of Sweden’s leading business weeklies.

The jury’s explanation for awarding the prize to Samuelson:

“In an industry with tough competition and during a period characterized by a global financial crisis, the company has with a clear focus managed to lower its costs and continuously improve its key figures, which has led them to place in the absolute top of this year’s analysis. With strong business skills, leadership and optimization of critical financial areas such as capital and risks, the CFO of the Year 2010 has contributed to the positive development for the company.”

Jonas Samuelson is happy to receive the award but stresses his team’s contribution. “Over the last years Electrolux has delivered strong financial results despite a tough market,” he says. “We are obviously on the right track, and our hard work has been worth it. This is an award for the entire financial team within Electrolux.”

Jonas Samuelson is originally from Gothenburg, Sweden. He was appointed CFO for Electrolux in 2008. Before joining Electrolux, he was CFO and Executive Vice President for Munters AB, a global leader in energy-efficient air treatment solutions and restoration services. Prior to that Samuelson held several positions within General Motors in Sweden and the US.
