Hans Stråberg appointed CEO of the Electroux Group

(ELUX) Hans Stråberg has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of the Electrolux Group, with effect from the company’s Annual General Meeting in April 2002. Michael Treschow will continue as President and CEO until the Annual General Meeting. With immediate effect, Hans Stråberg has been appointed Chief Operating Officer for the Group, with full responsibility for the Group’s operations.

Hans Stråberg, 44, has a Master’s degree in Science and Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg. He joined Electrolux in 1983 and moved into his first senior position with the company in 1987, with global responsibility for dishwashers and laundry products. In 1992, he became General Manager for the Group’s Floorcare operations at Västervik, Sweden, before moving in 1995 to the United States, where he took responsibility for production and development in the Group’s North American white goods operations. In 1998, he became head of the Group’s Floorcare and Light Appliances sector, with responsibility for annual sales of around SEK 10 billion and around 5,000 employees. He has been a member of Electrolux’s Group Management team since 1998.

Hans Stråberg succeeds Michael Treschow, who has been proposed as Chairman of Ericsson, following its Annual General Meeting in March 2002.
