Electrolux, the world’s largest producer of products for kitchen, cleaning, and outdoor use, is implementing the first globally accessible, interactive and complete travel planner for employees. The on-line booking system for hotels and flights, located in the company’s Intranet, is expected to cut costs, due to a more consequent leverage of corporate rates and improved co-ordination.
The purpose of the travel planner is to make travel arrangements easier, faster and more cost efficient. The on-line booking system for hotel accommodation automatically displays available rooms at hotels with corporate-negotiated rates, and will also deliver confirmation immediately. The travel planner also offers a variety of travel information, such as maps to Electrolux locations, route finders, regional particularities and currency calculators.
Electrolux Travel Manager Jo-Achim Hamburger expects a high level of acceptance for the new booking system. “I believe the travel planner will be successful. The system was developed in close co-operation with frequent travellers, and it will be available in an already popular environment on the Intranet.”
