The Electrolux Group, the world’s leading producer of household appliances and a leading supplier of refrigerators for caravans and mobile homes, is acquiring the German-based Seitz Group with facilities in Krautheim, Germany and Tidaholm, Sweden. Seitz supplies caravan and mobile home producers in Europe, Japan, Australia and the USA with windows, doors, rooftop windows and blind systems and is the European market leader.
Since 1996, Seitz Polyurethan-Technik GmbH in Krautheim and Seitz AB in Tidaholm together have nearly doubled their turnover to more than DEM 100 million in 1999. The Seitz Group has 350 employees.
Adolf Kretzer, Electrolux Senior Vice President for Leisure appliances, regards the acquisition as an ideal complement to the existing business. “Through the acquisition of Seitz we will be able to develop our leisure business from a producer of refrigerators into a systems supplier. This will further strengthen our leading position in this area.”
