The development of water- and energy-efficient appliances is a result of our consumer insight, and helps us provide consumers with innovative and relevant products while strengthening our brand. Lowering energy consumption in manufacturing helps us to be cost efficient. Maintaining ethical and safe workplaces is the most efficient use of the talents in our organization,” says Henrik Sundström, Vice President Group Sustainability Affairs in Electrolux. ”I am proud to conclude that Electrolux not only maintains its leading position in sustainability, but even strengthens it.”
The Electrolux Sustainability Strategy focuses on three areas:
- Integrating sustainability goals throughout the operations.
- Driving innovation and building the market for efficient appliances.
- Engaging stakeholders in dialog and building partnerships throughout the Group’s value chain to achieve these sustainability goals.
The Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes evaluate the performance of the world’s leading companies in sustainability – from each industry on a global and regional level respectively. The evaluation is based on criteria such as corporate governance, risk management, branding, climate change mitigation, supply chain standards and labor practices. The indexes provide asset managers with reliable and objective benchmarks to manage sustainability portfolios. Launched in 1999, the indexes are managed cooperatively by Dow Jones Indexes and Sustainable Asset Management (SAM).
