Barbara Thoralfsson proposed as new Director at Electrolux

(ELUX). Barbara Thoralfsson is being proposed as new Director at AB Electrolux to be elected at the Annual General Meeting on April 22, 2003.

Barbara Thoralfsson, 44, has an MBA in Marketing from Colombia University, USA, and a BA in psychology from Duke University, USA. She is president of TeliaSonera’s subsidiary in Norway, Netcom A/S. Prior to that she was managing director of Midelfart & CO A/S, Norway, and product manager at General Foods Corporation and Orkla. She is a board member of Rieber & Son ASA. She is a US citizen.

“The proposal to elect Barbara Thoralfsson is part of the Electrolux strategy to focus on marketing and brands, based on consumer insight,” says Chairman Rune Andersson.

The proposal for election of Board Members represents re-election of Rune Andersson, Peggy Bruzelius, Thomas Halvorsen, Louis R. Hughes, Hans Stråberg, Michael Treschow, Karel Vuursteen and Jacob Wallenberg, and election of Barbara Thoralfsson.

The proposal for election of Directors has been prepared by representatives of some of the large shareholders: Investor AB, Alecta pensionsförsäkring, ömsesidigt, Robur Fonder and Chairman of Electrolux, Rune Andersson. Jointly they represent 32% of the voting rights of all the shares in the Company. The proposal will be presented at the Annual General Meeting on April 22, 2003.
