Alberto Zanata has been appointed new head of Electrolux Professional Products and Executive Vice President of AB Electrolux. Zanata will be a member of Group Management and report to President and CEO Hans Stråberg.
Alberto Zanata, 49, has held various positions in Professional Products including President of Electrolux Professional in North America, Vice President Marketing and Product Management, factory manager and product manager. Zanata holds a degree in Electronic Engineering with Business Administration from the University of Padua, Italy. Until 1983 Zanata was a professional tennis player.
The appointment of Zanata is effective immediately. He is an Italian citizen and will be based in Pordenone, Italy. Zanata succeeds Detlef Münchow who, as previously communicated, is leaving the Group.
Electrolux Professional Products is a market leader in Professional Food Service Equipment and Professional Laundry Equipment. Sales amounted to SEK 7.4 billion in 2008 or 7% of Electrolux total sales of SEK 105 billion. Operating income amounted to SEK 774 million and operating margin to 10.4%.
