In 2018, Electrolux acquired Schneidereit, a German supplier of laundry rental solutions for professional customers. Functional sales is a fast-growing segment in the industry as it enables customers to run their businesses without worrying about asset ownership or maintenance. The acquisition enables Electrolux to develop its functional sales offering within the professional business and supports the long-term profitable growth strategy.

• Rental solutions share of business to business sales in the industry is increasing all around the world, for example it increased in Australia from 10% to 40% in five years. The penetration in the UK is about 30% and in the U.S. 20%.
