As part of its sustainability approach, Electrolux communicates objectives, progress on priorities of each of its strategic pillars, and the next step for 2015 and beyond

Responsible Sourcing

  • Engage suppliers in the Group’s sustainability strategy
  • Trained a total of 197 (127) suppliers, in new CoC, transparency and compliance with focus on the Middle East, Chile and China.
  • Delivered dedicated training of between one and four hours to over 360 Electrolux procurement staff members.
  • Hold a 2015 workshop for all major Brazilian suppliers.
  • Develop and deploy on-line training for staff and suppliers to increase reach and quality of training.

Responsible Sourcing

  • Identify and assess impacts beyond direct material suppliers.
  • Developed and tested a risk assessment process for indirect material suppliers.
  • Commenced pilot audits of indirect and second tier suppliers to evaluate effectiveness of present audit tools. 
  • Expand engagement with indirect material suppliers through auditing and training.

Responsible Sourcing

  • Work with growing proportion of procurement from low-cost countries. In the last five years this increased  to approximately 61% (65%) by 2014.

  • Conducted 361 (376) supplier audits, covering 52% of the critical suppliers identified.
  • Developed audit tools to match content and requirements of new CoC and Workplace standard.
  • Carried out follow-up audits with 127  suppliers, with a considerable improvement in the majority of cases.
  • Expand audit scope to include suppliers of indirect materials.
  • Increase focus on supplier improvement pace through introducing new KPI.

  • Define a comprehensive approach to evaluate existing and potential suppliers among global and local suppliers.
  • Designed a new global Supplier Assessment Questionnaire.

  • Implement Supplier Assessment Questionnaire in all regions.

Stakeholder Dialogue

  • Understand expectations and respond to different stakeholder and market concerns.

  • Hosted two meetings for investors to meet members of Group management and discuss sustainability issues.
  • Held dialogs with major customers on processes for Code of Conduct compliance in supply chain.
  • Conducted issue-specific discussions with industry peers and partners through BSR, Swedish Network for Business and Human Rights, UNICEF’s Corporate Network for Children´s Rights.

  • Integrate findings from stakeholder dialog into Group decision-making processes.
  • Received stakeholder feedback from the 12 workshops with Group Management, Business Sector and Functional Leadership Teams.

Stakeholder Dialogue

  • Focus attention on shared societal challenges.

  • Took part in dialog with representatives of governments, policy-makers and inter-governmental organizations on issues relating to climate change, energy and resource efficiency, producer responsibility, product labeling and eco-design and phase-out of chemicals of concern.
  • Streamline and align the Group’s public-policy efforts globally.
  • Continue efforts to influence the public policy agenda through membership in industry organizations such as CECED, AHAM and the TABC.

Stakeholder Dialogue

  • Build strategic partnerships with suppliers, customers, business partners and NGOs to reduce CO2 along the value chain.

  • Participated in Smart-grid projects in Europe and as Reference Group member (EcoGrid Bornholm)
  • Completed the set-up and moved into Development phase with the Stockholm Royal Seaport project
  • Complete development of smart-grid ready appliances for the Royal Seaport project in Stockholm, Sweden.

Stakeholder Dialogue

  • Drive for global harmonization of performance standards and legislation
  • Participated in the TABC, promoting harmonized measurements of energy efficiency.
  • Develop new Global Affairs function and  enter relevant discussions, primarily in Europe and North America.
