No washing machine? No problem!

Using new business models Electrolux is providing sustainable, convenient, clean clothes services to those without washing machines at home.

Everyone deserves clean clothes, so Electrolux has taken two creative routes to achieve that.

Mobile laundry

The Mobile Laundry, a new community laundry service powered by Electrolux Professional, was recently launched in Delhi, India. With the blessing of the Indian Government’s ‘Clean India’ initiative, the Mobile Laundry will be parked in authorized residential locations a few days a week. Equipped with an onboard water tank and generator, it can also be connected to public water and electricity supplies.

For those who don’t have space or funds for a washing machine, the Mobile Laundry offers a convenient clean clothes service as well as pick-up, drop-off and ironing. Minimal environmental impact is guaranteed thanks to carefully optimized water, detergent and washing cycles.

EcoLux laundry corners

Electrolux was the first professional laundry manufacturer to introduce coin-operated laundry shops in Japan nearly 40 years ago. But in 2012, with over 4,200 shops, it was time for a rethink.

After research among potential customers, Electrolux Professional developed a new coin-operated business model focused on customer experience. The result: the sustainable EcoLux Laundry, featuring state-of-the-art machines that use minimum water, detergent and energy for each wash, simple video instructions, comfy sofas and friendly interiors inviting social interaction. The concept is catching on: in 2014 dealer-operated coin-op shop sales were expected to grow 25% compared to 14% in 2013.
