Keyhole hob and Ebony kitchen collection get design awards in Singapore

The Electrolux Keyhole Hob and the Electrolux Ebony Kitchen Collection have picked up two golds at the Singapore Design Awards 2010.

“We are extremely honored and thrilled to win two prestigious gold awards,” said Pernilla Johansson, Design Director, Electrolux Asia Pacific. “The awards are a testimony to our unique approach to design, which focuses on thinking about the user. This design philosophy is at the very heart of the Electrolux brand, and we are constantly looking for new ways to create holistic products that are easy to use, relevant and create desirable end-user experiences.”

The Singapore Design Awards 2010 are hosted by the Designers Association of Singapore. Since their founding in 1988, the awards have honored outstanding projects in various categories of design.

Launched in China earlier this year, and now rolling out in Southeast Asia, the Keyhole hob is based on the consumer insight that Asian cooking requires outstanding stir-frying power as well as precise soup simmering. Gas is excellent for wok cooking, induction is great for simmering control. Keyhole represents the best of both worlds.

First launched in Australia last year, the Electrolux Ebony Kitchen Collection makes a striking contrast to conventional kitchen white. Each glossy black piece in the collection showcases the latest in Electrolux technology with touch electronic controls, smooth black flat panel doors and a sleek black finish, complemented with stainless steel handles to meet all tastes.
