Electrolux has received the Ökovision Sustainability Leadership Award, being recognized as a role model in sustainability for ‘pioneering’ work in developing energy and water-efficient products.
Electrolux is one of only nine global companies presented the Award by Ökoworld – a German investment company which evaluates international companies and their products from an ecological, ethical and social perspective. The awards committee consisted of experts from environmental, human rights and consumer protection organizations, as well as experts in ecologically and socially sustainable economic development.
Electrolux received a prize of EUR 13,000 which will be donated to Streets of the World, a children’s rights charity which supports food and housing efforts in Swaziland, Africa.
The award was presented on 14 September in Dusseldorf, Germany to mark the 25th anniversary of Ökovision.
