Electrolux Libero Line gets top European design label

Electrolux Libero Line receives the Janus de l’Industrie label 2011. Libero Line is integrated and mobile plug-in professional products to prepare and serve food in front of customers no matter the setting.

The Janus de l’Industrie is a mark of recognition, assigned since 1953 by the French Institute of Design. It rewards products designed to provide real benefits to users.

Despite a tough competition and difficulties for a professional solution to emerge in an international design contest, the Libero Line received the unanimous vote by the multi-disciplined jury of experts.

Flexibility and ease of use, advanced technology and appealing aesthetics combined in a mobile compact kitchen are the winning assets of the Libero Line according to the jury, confirming the opinion of many professionals in the food service market.

Libero Line is the ultimate tool for cooking in front of diverse kind of customers and settings.  Grill, sauté, steam and even fry food are possible to be prepared using Libero line.

“Thinking about users, we applied our best expertise and technology to achieve this result. Libero is an ergonomic, effective and functional solution, aesthetically appealing. This award proves that we succeeded,” says Michele Cadamuro, Electrolux Professional Head of Industrial Design.

In 2003 Electrolux Professional won the Janus Label for the Molteni Podium and in 2007 for the cutter and vegetable slicer TRS/ K/ TRK, part of the Dynamic Preparation range. This last range also received the prominent Honorable Mention of the Compasso d’Oro Award in July 2011.

The Janus Label is bestowed to products that satisfy several requirements based on five main criteria: ergonomics, aesthetics, economy, ethics and emotion. Products designed based on customer insight and with an environmentally-friendly approach are highly appreciated. The jury consists of experts in different areas such as business, design and social sciences.
