Electrolux Group Donates Room Air Conditioners to Help Springfield Community Fight Summer Heat

Charlotte, NC, August 29, 2023 – Electrolux Group today donated more than $141,000 worth of room air conditioners to the United Way of Greater Nashville, which will distribute the appliances to the most vulnerable populations located both in the local community and surrounding areas. The organization is leveraging several local nonprofits to support the distribution of the appliances, including C.O.P.E., Stokes Brown Public Library, Robertson County YMCA, United Ministries Food Bank and Mid-Cumberland Community Action Agency.

Electrolux Group reports loss in the fourth quarter – driven by North America

Electrolux Group announced today that operating income, excluding non-recurring items, in the fourth quarter of 2023 is estimated to be approx. SEK -0.7bn (-0.6). The underlying loss in business area North America is estimated at approx. SEK -1.4bn (-1.2), driven by intensified price pressure, lower volumes and elevated cost levels related to the cooking manufacturing transition.

Electrolux reinitiates U.S. manufacturing and product investment, announces manufacturing consolidation projects

The Electrolux Group said today it is reinitiating an investment in Springfield, Tennessee, and consolidating all U.S. cooking manufacturing into that facility. Electrolux also said it will transfer refrigeration manufacturing from its Santiago, Chile facility to other locations. The measures will lead to restructuring charges in the first quarter 2019 of approximately SEK 1 billion, whereof approximately SEK 300 million will have a cash flow impact. 

Electrolux investing $500 million in U.S. product innovation and manufacturing, also consolidating production

The Electrolux Group said today it is planning total investments of approximately USD 500 million in its U.S. manufacturing operations, stepping up a strategic initiative to drive profitable growth in North America with new lines of innovative Frigidaire kitchen products. The company also said it will consolidate freezer production into its Anderson, South Carolina refrigeration facility. 

Electrolux to consolidate cooking manufacturing in North America

Electrolux is planning to consolidate its North American cooking manufacturing by building a new manufacturing facility in Memphis, Tennessee, USA. In consolidating cooking production to Tennessee, where Electrolux currently operates a factory in Springfield, Electrolux will gain advantages of scale by leveraging resources such as R&D, talent, labs and supply base.
